In a Nutshell
Name:
Me? I-if you insist, I'm called Aparra.
Species:
Me and the creatures like me are known as Kermode bears.
Gender:
I-I'm a female. C-could you really not tell?
Age:
I'd guess about 1 and a half years at the time of the Transportation. Since then, though, who knows. I still seem rather young.
Birthplace:
The f-former world, naturally.
Preferred Region:
Anywhere somewhat near the Nexus, especially along the Splitting Streams is good enough for me. S-some creatures are cruel, so I can't be picky.

Physical Description:
W-well, from quite a few remarks from others, I can tell you that my pelt is white, tinged with a tad of yellow and light brown. There are streaks of purer white along my snout and back, also. Not that you can t-tell, of course, with the faded color of this body; it just looks white or light grey most of the time. I try to keep it clean, I-I swear, but it always seems to be so shaggy and unkempt! I may as well mention, t-though you've surely noticed already, that I have this s-stutter. It's annoying sometimes, b-but I'm really quite used to it. I also know, just from my own experience, that I'm small, and not only because of my age. My ears and snout and paws have always seemed a tad large, and, me being a bear, my form isn't exactly thin or graceful, nor all that muscular. W-what? Of course I can still defend myself! L-look here, my ivory claws are plenty sharp, same as the white teeth in my jaws! And don't try to run, my soft brown nose is very well-trained! Not to mention that my black eyes are quite sharp!
Digging Deeper
Personality:
O-oh no! Not that I would really hurt you, I couldn't really hurt anybody unless my life depended on it. My mother taught me a lot of fighting moves, though, because where we lived had a lot of cruel bears. Naturally, I have trouble trusting any creature larger than me now, which is quite a few! Any smaller ones, though, and I'll approach carefully, perhaps try to make friends. Really, though, I'm not much of a friend-maker, I prefer to remain acquaintances with most. I'd love to have a friend, though, a-as long as you're not too loud or mean! I prefer quiet peace most of the time, so I particularly enjoy sleeping when I can't pass the time.
Y-you want to know whether I eat other creatures or not? Well, i-it's in my nature to eat fish, and so I do. I rather enjoy fishing in the streams, in fact. But no matter how hungry I got, I don't think I could eat a creature that spoke Arima unless I went completely out of my mind! I'd much rather ally with them and then they could tell me about the flora in the area and we could find food together, even though I h-hate eating plants. I love Arima, also; it makes me feel so connected and alive!
How do I see myself? Well, I do try to care for myself, after all, here my thoughts and feelings are all I've got to hear and all I've got to communicate with. I-I need to understand and love myself to survive, really. I try and do what I think is right, but I don't always have the courage to to it. That's one thing that I really don't like about myself; I can defend and threaten but I rarely flat-out speak my mind.
History:
Y-you really want to hear about the past of a little cub like me? Okay, I was born in the former world, somewhere in a forest, I think. It was a nice place, but there were a lot of mean bears there, and other dangerous creatures too! M-mother taught me a lot, though, she was a really good teacher. She had the more common black pelt of our kind, which c-confused me as a small cub. Her name? She was called Belusezko, but I just c-called her Bel, or Mother. What, you want to hear about Father? I never knew him, most of my kind are raised by their mothers. Bel said that his name was I-Izotz, and that he was nice, but a bit stubborn. She a-also said he was white, like me!
A-Anyway, I was raised by my mother until the day of the Transportation. That day was horribly scary! We were out fishing, and s-suddenly my vision just went black, and e-everything swirled around me! I woke up near the Great Clearing, where a lot of creatures were discussing what was going on. It seemed like they had woken up a good while before me, so they already knew the world somewhat. S-so once they had come to an agreement, I-I decided that I should explore it! I found the Splitting Streams pretty quickly and decided to stay near them, where I can catch plenty of fish. I've only heard a little about the lands far from the Nexus, and I doubt I'll ever go too far. I still haven't seen Bel since then, and I d-don't know that I ever will.

Something tells me that I love to sing. Specifically, my own mind says this. You must sing until all the leaves fall from the trees, I think. "Perhaps, then, I shall do exactly that," I reply to myself. I sing until the sky splits and stars fall like rain.
