We don't know how we got to this world, none of us truly do. But they say, we all believe, that this is where our souls went when our universe ended. It was not destroyed, it simply ended, therefore our bodies never died, and we supposedly could not pass on to the next life. We traveled to this miserable, unfinished void of a world, a world that we all know as the Absolute Nothing. There is more than nothing, naturally, but it seems like so little compared to what we once had. We now have a world void of color and sound, where our bodies are sad replicas of our former ones, with diluted colors and far less weight. All species are here, and we are all mysteriously able to communicate in one language. We somehow live, awaiting death as we always have. This world is incomplete, but we have no choice but to continue. Come, and we will tell you more of this world.
In this world there are two halves, two voids, one light and one dark. They meet at a perfectly straight, endless border. These are known as the Bright Void and the Shadowed Void.
In this world, somewhere along the border of the two voids, there is a better-developed center, a hub, if you will, of this world. Most dwell in or near here, as far as we know, as things are more developed the closer you get to it. We know this place as the Nexus.
In this world all species communicate, with a true predator-prey relationship rare. We have no true language without sound, but we seem to have one established in our souls, and are able to use some form of telepathy because of this.
In this world, the telepathy lets us "hear" anything living. There is a constant hum in the forests that cannot be found out on The Slab or The Freeze. We can hear the life.
In this world, we do not need to eat or sleep or drink, but we still feel hunger and tiredness quite clearly, sometimes more clearly than in our former world (it varies from creature to creature). Some remain strong against these urges, but most cave in, forced to eat lesser creatures or sleep constantly, in some cases.
In this world, we still die by other ways than starvation or dehydration, mostly from being killed by other creatures. We are more soul than body, and this shows when we die. Our blood is silver with soul, and this soul scatters at our death, going to the next world or lingering in this one, depending on your beliefs.
In this world, some have begun to crop up who say they were born in this world, although procreation seems to be impossible. The favored theory is that the souls of those who have died here will occasionally gather and form a new creature, a new life.
In this world, we seem to age, but at erratic and confusing paces, different for everyone. With no sun, no night and day, it is impossible to keep real time. Some who were born here even seem to be older than those who originate in our former world.
In this world, these are the things that all know. Take what you will, form your beliefs, and good luck with your life in this world, young creature.
